Where Should You Go Out in Da Nang After Dark?

How does Da Nang's nightlife divide up?

Into three places, and knowing which is which saves you a lot of pointless riding around. The beach clubs sit on Vo Nguyen Giap, the bar streets of An Thuong are just behind them, and the rooftops face the Han River. The city closes earlier than Ho Chi Minh City or Bangkok, and depending on what you came here for, that is either the appeal or the whole problem.

Where do foreigners actually go out in Da Nang?

An Thuong, almost always. It is the grid of small streets behind My Khe beach, and it holds most of the city's international pubs, cocktail bars, craft beer places, backpacker spots and late food. Everything is close enough that you can start with a beer, move to live music, and end up at a bun cha stall without ever calling a ride.

That density matters more than any single venue. One bar can be dead on a Tuesday. A street with fifteen of them will not be.

An Thuong works because you can change your mind about the night three times and never leave the neighbourhood.

Which beach bars are worth it?

The Vo Nguyen Giap strip is the reason people put up with the humidity. Esco Beach is the busiest of the beach clubs and the one most visitors know. Malibu Beach Club leans more toward weekend party nights. Maia Beach Bar and Lounge Beach Bar are calmer, better for dinner and a drink with the sea in front of you.

Go before sunset if you want a table on the sand. After about 8pm the good spots are taken and you are drinking behind someone else's chair.

The beach clubs are an early evening venue. Arrive at sunset or accept the second row.

Where do you go for a view?

Rooftops, and they split by what you want to look at. The Roof looks toward My Khe. Brilliant Top Bar and Gypsy Rooftop face the river and the city, which is the better side once the bridges light up. Da Nang Rooftop is the low key version, more craft beer than cocktail list.

These are sunset venues. Go at 5.30pm, stay for an hour, then move somewhere with a bit more life in it. Rooftop bars in this city are for the first drink, rarely the fourth.

Rooftops are for the hour around sunset. After dark the energy moves down to street level.

What if you want music and conversation, not a club?

Then this is the strongest part of the city's nightlife, and the part that has grown fastest. Da Nang has a decent live music scene for a place this size. On The Radio is the name most people give you first. C Bar runs live sets. MarLan Pub does craft beer, food and music in the same room. The 1920's Lounge is the quieter option if you want to hear the person across the table.

It also suits how most residents actually go out here: a few drinks, a band, home before 1am.

If you want to talk to someone, the live music venues beat the clubs every night of the week.

Where do people dance?

At four places, and only really on two nights. For You Club, Bloom Night Club, ADM Club and SAGA Da Nang cover the club side, with DJs, dance floors, late hours and a crowd that mixes locals, Korean visitors and tourists.

Friday and Saturday are the only nights these are reliably full, plus public holidays. Turn up on a Wednesday and you will be dancing with the staff.

Clubs in Da Nang are a weekend activity. Midweek, the city does not have the volume to fill them.

What does a night out cost?

Less than you think, with a wide spread between the two ends. A local beer at a street bar or a bia hoi corner costs very little. A cocktail on a rooftop or at a beach club is closer to what you would pay in Bangkok. Seafood by the beach, night market food and late noodles barely register in the budget.

The practical version: you can have a full night out in An Thuong for the price of two cocktails at a hotel bar.

The gap between street level and rooftop pricing is large. You can pick your night to fit the wallet.

Is there a night out that does not involve drinking?

Yes, and it is a real part of how the city spends its evenings rather than a consolation prize. Walk My Khe after dark once the sand cools down. Watch the Dragon Bridge fire show. Take a Han River cruise. Eat seafood on the beach road. Sit in a coffee shop until midnight, which is a normal Vietnamese evening and not a fallback plan.

The Dragon Bridge show is the easiest fixed point to plan an evening around. The dragon breathes fire and then sprays water on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9pm, it runs about half an hour, and there is no ticket. Arrive by about 8.30pm if you want somewhere to stand near the dragon's head. The schedule gets extended for national holidays, so it is worth checking around Tet and the September holiday.

Da Nang gives you a version of a night out that ends with you sleeping properly. Not every Asian beach city does.

Which nights are worth going out?

Friday and Saturday for anything with a dance floor, Friday through Sunday if you want the Dragon Bridge, and any night at all for An Thuong, though it thins out early from Monday to Thursday.

Korean visitors make up a large share of the international crowd here. The city passed one million Korean arrivals in 2025 by the first of August that year. You will notice it in the clubs and along the beach strip, especially over the summer.

Weekends carry the nightlife. Midweek is for beach bars, live music and long dinners.

Where should you live if nightlife matters to you?

Inside An Thuong or My An if you go out weekly, and north of the beach if you go out monthly. This is the question that actually changes your year here, and most people get it backwards. They take a beautiful apartment in a quiet part of town, then spend more on rides to the bars than they ever saved on the rent.

• An Thuong and My An. Inside the bar district, walking distance to the beach, with noise as the trade off. The right call if going out is a weekly habit rather than an occasional one.
• The riverside, around the Han and Dragon bridges. Better if you prefer rooftops and restaurants to beach bars, and you are on the doorstep of the bridge show three nights a week.
• Son Tra and north of the beach. Quieter, greener, more residential. Suits people who want a nightlife they can visit rather than live inside.
